Feeling the Heat at Hurlingham !

Hello again,

Today we played at The Hurlingham Club, in the North West of Buenos Aires, and it is indeed extremely colonial in style. It's not actually a golf club. It's just 'The Hurlingham Club'. The feature activity is Polo, and we heard that The Hurlingham is currently Number One in Polo. Prince Charles has played polo here. There's also Cricket, Tennis and a swimming Pool, and a golf course which plots it's way around the other activities. This would explain why the caddies told us 'Out of Bounds' on the right and the left on almost every hole ! The Hurlingham, founded by members of the British Community in 1888, is extremely exclusive and the extensive grounds and sports fields are very well cared for. We're told that Del Potro comes to practise on the grass tennis courts before Wimbledon. The temperature today, like yesterday was probably 100 degrees +. It was seriously hot and energy sapping .. well that's my excuse for very poor golf. With heat swollen hands and welts on both hands, the clubs felt very alien in my hands today. We had a team game today ; 2 best scores out of 3. Here's our team : Allison, Mike and me. We weren't brilliant and finished a bit down the pack ! Better to come next week.

We enjoyed drinks in the shade of a well placed tree after the round (here's Noonie with Hugh and Steve) then had a very nice lunch of steak, following by brownies and ice cream.

A quiet night tonight as we have a very early start, to fly to Iguazu in the morning. We look forward to seeing the Falls from both the Argentina and Brazil sides and to a game at the Bourbon International Golf Club on Monday.

Bye for now,
Kate
